Director of Technical Operations


Our client a high potential and exciting innovative well-funded Medical Devices company are currently seeking a Director of Technical Operations to join their team as support the company as it gets ready to launch into global markets. |The Director of Technical Operations who will report into the CTO and will take responsibility of managing the supply chain to ensure that customer demand is fully satisfied without an over extension of inventory.


Role/ Responsibilities

  • · Managing the technical and operational delivery of all supplier & manufacturing sites.
  • · Responsible for leading all technical transfers formanufacturing.
  • · Responsible for identification and selection of new/alternative manufacturing partners.
  • · Will have technical oversight of all contract manufacturers in Ireland and outside and play a key role in improving technical and operational delivery covering device, console, sterile and packaging manufacturers.
  • · Play a key part in the technical development of the new manufacturing structure/ manufacturing partners.
  • · Leading and managing external supply, from strategy through to the execution of all procurement processes, including administering overall spend, identifying cost savings/ efficiencies, and developing and maintaining strategic vendor partnerships.
  • · Ensuring effective supplier management, from the procurement of raw materials right through to the manufacturing of product with third-party manufacturers.
  • · Ensure the highest possible quality of product by establishing and adhering to applicable standards and requirements including those established by ISO, FDA, GMP, CSA, ASME, Quality Systems, etc.

Skills/Experience

  • · A university Degree or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • · Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Medical Device space with hands on Technical and Operational Management experience.
  • · Prior experience in selecting and overseeing Manufacturing with a Contract Manufacturer.
  • · Experience overseeing technical output with contract manufacturer in the Medical Device space.
  • · Successful experience in leading manufacturing in a rapid-growth environment.
  • · Team player with strong communication, enthusiasm, and interpersonal skills.
  • · Must have extensive medical device and sterile manufacturing experience.
  • · Must have extensive technical transfer and manufacturing process development experience.
