Our client a high potential medical device start up are currently seeking an electronic Design Engineer to join their team. This is a role in the product development team and will provide technical support to the product development team, liaising with external partners in the development of a novel medical technology.


Role/Responsibilities

  • Internal responsibility for creating and maintaining design control documentation relating to the electronics hardware of device developments.
  • Development of verification and validation specification documentation in support of product development activity in accordance with internal and external standards.
  • Develop, implement, and test prototypes to determine technical feasibility.
  • Preparation, execution and documentation of test plans and procedures for Sensors, PCA’s and product systems.
  • Liaise with external design, manufacturing, and test partners, providing technical support and managing knowledge transfers.
  • Work on all elements of the Research & Development of projects from concept generation through to design validation.
  • Design of concepts and prototypes in advance of selecting the most promising solution to take into Design Freeze.
  • Assist the team in the development of intellectual property generated through the Research & Development activities.

Skills/Experiecne

  • Level 8 degree or higher in Electronic Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of analogue design including op-amps, discrete transistor circuits, DAC, ADC, PLL’s and oscillator circuits.
  • Knowledge of sensors system
  • Knowledge of design for manufacture for high volumes markets
  • Knowledge of Schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium preferred)
  • Knowledge of EMC and ISO 60601-1 safety principles
  • Working knowledge of medical device regulations and design control principles
