Our client is an exciting start-up with advanced technologies in the cell therapy space. They have experienced rapid growth and are seeking a Principal R&D Automation Engineer for their business. This company is backed by an extremely strong board and have a superb infrastructure in placed – laboratories, external relationships etc.
Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation of liquid handling and fully automated platforms enabling automation of ex vivo delivery of large molecules
Lead, manage, hire and mentor a small team of process engineers.
Implementation of workflow and sample tracking.
Work with scientists to coordinate experimental design and execution.
Design, implement, and troubleshoot experiments, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues, to reach desired goals.
Continually seek out new technologies to enhance throughput and aid in workflow optimisation.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in Engineering or bioprocessing, bioengineering, biotechnology with 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
MS in bioprocessing, bioengineering, biotechnology, chemical engineering or process engineering with 11+ years of relevant industry experience
Required Skills:
Extensive experience with designing, programming, and implementing filtering and liquid handling platforms into a high throughput environment to increase throughput and cell health.
Extensive experience with automation of cell based assays
