Our client is entering an exciting period of growth and are recruiting a graduate R&D Mechatronics Engineer with a keen interest in the medical device space. They are looking for a motivated individual with problem solving and analytical skills and an interest in control of electro-mechanical systems.

• Contribute to ongoing development, improvement and extension of the company’s existing technology and intellectual property portfolio through innovation and invention
• Develop an understanding of the disease state and clinical needs, and keep up to date with current devices and technologies
• Create drawings/specifications of prototypes, components and fixtures
• Design, build and operate computer controlled electro-mechanical test equipment
• Develop and perform engineering studies for design verifications and validations
• Write technical procedures, protocols, specifications and reports
• Identify and interact with vendors to obtain engineering materials and equipment
• Commit to ongoing personal development to improve technical skillsets

Qualifications, Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline is required but a mechatronic engineering background is advantageous
• Relevant experience working in the medical device industry is advantageous or a 6 month+ work placement
• Excellent problem-solving skills are required
• Ability to prioritise project tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of Matlab and Labview (or similar) is preferred
• Experience of computer-aided design and modelling using Solidworks or similar is preferred
